EPMUY 2 scheme launched
Hyderabad: Rahul Bhardwaj, Executive Director, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State Office, Indian Oil Corporation Limited launched EPMUY 2 scheme and also sales promotional scheme here on Wednesday.
PMUY scheme launched in State on April 14 was intended to reach LPG to all the BPL households identified in SECC 2011 census. Subsequently EPMUY (Extended PMUY) was launched where BPL households under 7 classifications including SC/ST and AAY card holders were covered.
Now EPMUY 2 scheme has been approved by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs. In this scheme, all BPL households who were not covered under the SECC data and EPMUY are facilitated to avail the PMUY LPG connection.
Presently under PMUY 5.14 lakhs connections have been released in Telangana by the industry (IOC- 2.05 lakhs, BPC – 1.34 lakhs and HPC – 1.75 lakhs). The LPG coverage In Telangana is about 110.5 per cent of household population, according to a press release.
To increase the coverage and also to serve the existing customers better, a lucky draw has been designed and implemented by the Indane distributors of State. Under this lucky draw scheme, all the new connections enrolled with Indane distributors and existing customers availing second cylinder connection from Indane distributors in the State from December 19 to 23 will be eligible for winning a prize, the release added.
